Keeping Batu Coris Wrasse in an Aquarium
The Batu Coris Wrasse, also known as Coris batuensis, is a colorful and active fish that can make a great addition to a saltwater aquarium. Here are some things to keep in mind when keeping this species:
Appearance
The Batu Coris Wrasse has a bright and bold appearance, with a deep blue body and yellow fins. The males of the species have a more elongated body shape and longer fins than the females. They can grow up to 12 inches in length, so a large aquarium is recommended.
Behavior
This species is active and likes to swim around the aquarium, so it needs plenty of space to move. They can be aggressive towards other wrasses and fish with similar body shapes, so it's best to keep them with fish that are larger or have a different body shape. They may also dig in the substrate, so make sure to provide a sandy bottom.
Diet
The Batu Coris Wrasse is omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including small crustaceans, worms, and algae. It's important to provide a varied diet to ensure they get all the nutrients they need.
