Keeping Naso Hawaiian Tang in an Aquarium
The Naso Hawaiian Tang, also known as the Lipstick Tang, is a popular fish among aquarists. Here are some things to keep in mind when considering adding one to your aquarium:
Tank Size
The Naso Hawaiian Tang is a large fish and requires a minimum tank size of 180 gallons. They are active swimmers and need plenty of room to move around.
Water Quality
The water quality in the tank should be kept pristine. The ideal temperature range is 72-78°F, with a pH of 8.1-8.4 and a salinity of 1.020-1.025.
Diet
The Naso Hawaiian Tang is an herbivore and should be fed a varied diet of algae, seaweed, and other plant-based foods. They may also accept some meaty foods, but these should be offered sparingly.
Behavior
The Naso Hawaiian Tang is generally peaceful but can become aggressive towards other tangs or fish with similar body shapes. They are best kept singly or in pairs.

Livestock can be fragile. If your animal does not meet our standards at the time your shipment is being packed, we will notify you and give you a credit toward another piece of livestock. Our goal is to provide you with the healthiest livestock possible, and we’ll do our best to ensure it gets to you safely. Cash refunds are not available for livestock, only credit toward other livestock.
