Keeping Purple Tusk Wrasse in an Aquarium

The Purple Tusk Wrasse (Choerodon cauteroma) is a stunning fish that can make a great addition to a saltwater aquarium. Here are some things to keep in mind when caring for this species:

• Tank size: A minimum tank size of 75 gallons is recommended for this fish, as it can grow up to 12 inches in length.
• Water parameters: The ideal temperature range for the Purple Tusk Wrasse is 72-78°F, with a pH of 8.1-8.4 and a salinity of 1.020-1.025.
• Diet: This species is carnivorous and will require a varied diet that includes meaty foods such as shrimp, krill, and squid. It may also eat small crustaceans and other invertebrates in the aquarium.
• Behavior: The Purple Tusk Wrasse is generally peaceful towards other fish, but may become aggressive towards other wrasse species or fish with a similar body shape. It may also eat small invertebrates in the aquarium.

Livestock can be fragile. If your animal does not meet our standards at the time your shipment is being packed, we will notify you and give you a credit toward another piece of livestock. Our goal is to provide you with the healthiest livestock possible, and we’ll do our best to ensure it gets to you safely. Cash refunds are not available for livestock, only credit toward other livestock.
