MAC Certified and quite the hobby,
It loves to hide,
Its burrows deep inside,
And keep its bright stripes quite lobby.
This fish needs sand to make its home,
And will hide if danger starts to roam,
It sifts through for food,
Though it's quite subdued,
It's a beautiful fish to all who roam.
So if you're looking for a cool fish,
Valenciennea longipinnis is worth this,
It's MAC Certified, you know,
And sure puts on a glow,
In your tank, you'll surely make bliss!
Keeping Sleeper Striped Goby (Valenciennea longipinnis) in an Aquarium
Sleeper Striped Goby, also known as Sleeper Goby, are a popular species to keep in aquariums. They are easy to care for, peaceful, and have an interesting behavior. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Size: They can grow up to 6 inches in length, so you'll need a tank that is at least 30 gallons.
- Habitat: Sleeper Striped Gobies are burrowers, so make sure to provide a sand substrate for them to dig into. They also appreciate plenty of hiding spots such as rocks, caves, and corals.
- Diet: They are mostly carnivorous and will eat small pieces of meaty foods like brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and frozen prepared foods.
- Compatibility: They are peaceful and can be housed with other peaceful fish species. They should not be kept with aggressive fish as they can become intimidated and stressed.
