Keeping the Picasso Humu Trigger in an Aquarium

The Picasso Humu Trigger, also known as the Rhinecanthus aculeatus, is a popular and striking fish that can add a lot of personality to your aquarium. Here are some things to keep in mind if you're considering adding this fish to your tank:

Tank Size

The Picasso Humu Trigger can grow up to 10 inches in length, so it's important to provide them with a tank that's at least 75 gallons in size. This will give them plenty of room to swim and explore.

Water Parameters

The Picasso Humu Trigger is a hardy fish that can tolerate a wide range of water parameters. However, they prefer a temperature range of 72-78°F and a pH range of 8.1-8.4. They also require a good filtration system to keep the water clean and healthy.

Diet

The Picasso Humu Trigger is an omnivore that will eat a variety of foods, including pellets, flakes, frozen foods, and live foods. They also enjoy picking at rocks and other surfaces in the tank, so it's important to provide them with plenty of hiding places and things to explore.

Behavior

The Picasso Humu Trigger is a very active and curious fish that can be a lot of fun to watch. They are also known for their aggressive behavior, so it's important to keep them with other fish that can hold their own. They may also nip at corals and other invertebrates, so it's best to avoid keeping them with these types of creatures.

Coolest Stuff

One of the coolest things about the Picasso Humu Trigger is their unique coloration. They have a black body with white spots and a bright yellow tail, as well as a blue-green face with yellow stripes. They also have a distinctive triangular shape and a large dorsal fin that they can raise and lower at will.

Another cool thing about the Picasso Humu Trigger is their intelligence. They have been known to recognize their owners and even learn tricks like swimming through hoops or pushing a ball around the tank.

Overall, the Picasso Humu Trigger is a fascinating and entertaining fish that can make a great addition to any aquarium. Just be sure to provide them with plenty of space, a healthy diet, and appropriate tank mates to ensure they thrive in their new home.
